About Snapdragon Quilting
Hi! I'm so glad you're here. I’m Jen Wagner — quilt pattern designer, instructor, and firm believer that great ideas start with morning coffee on the patio. In the spring of 2022, I launched Snapdragon Quilting with a clear mission: to ignite creativity and build confidence in quilters of all skill levels through thoughtfully designed patterns and engaging workshops.
My designs are known for bold graphics, saturated color, and a blend of modern and time-tested techniques. I love how contrast creates impact and belive that the right tools make all the difference. That’s why you’ll find not only my patterns and kits here, but also the trusted tools and supplies I personally use to help make your quilting experience smoother and more successful.
My Grandma Louise, pictured here, was a constant creator - pressed flowers, ceramics, crochet, sewing, quilting, puzzles, hand dipped chocolates - she did it all, and she always made sure I was right there beside her, hands-on in her projects. She had a way of making everyone feel important and special. When she looked at me, her face lit up and I can still hear her saying, "Jenni, Jenni, Jenni! I'm so glad that you're here." In that moment, I felt seen and heard and knew that I mattered. She was quite the gardener too and her colorful snapdragons were always my favorite. I have named my company, Snapdragon Quilting, in her memory. I hope to honor her legacy through kindness and by sharing my passion for quilting with you here.
I grew up sewing clothing under the guidance of my mom. Then in college, I took a semester of clothing construction to see if my mom really knew what she was talking about, she did. In 2006, my life was forever changed when I discovered quilting. My second child was born that spring and he woke up with the sun so we watched Alex Anderson in her show Simply Quilts in those wee hours. Alex showed me that quilting is an ART and I was hooked! Shortly thereafter, I bought my first longarm machine and began longarm quilting for others under the name Wagner Quilting. In addition to all the wonderful quilters I met, my favorite part of quilting for others was seeing the different ways color was used.

Beyond my passion for quilting, I dedicated nearly two decades working in women's health as a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. I found immense joy in educating women and their families about pregnancy, childbirth, contraception, menopause, and other crucial health topics, empowering them to make informed decisions and embrace healthier lifestyles. The well-being of a momma profoundly impacts the entire family. Take good care of yourself, you're worth it!

When I'm not quilting, you'll find me outside. I love golfing, hiking, swimming, skiing, biking, and gardening. I'm lucky to have a hubby that shows me the meaning of love and three kids that have become incredible young adults.
