When Rachel Rossi walked into my booth at International Quilt Market in Houston, I had no idea my whole year was about to change. Rachel’s easygoing personality and contagious love for quilting instantly lit up the space and we were soon chatting about her very first fabric line, Bee Haven. She headed over to the Benartex booth to grab the lookbook—only she didn’t come back alone.

My daughter Riley is graduating from the Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno this spring and I couldn’t be prouder. She has always had the biggest heart — the kind that shows up for people when it matters most. She’s working as a nanny for a sweet little boy, a nurse apprentice at the hospital, and even provides home health care for a paralyzed man — all while finishing nursing school.
