All Together Now BOM - Session 2

For this incredible block of the month project, we recommend making the throw sized quilt which has 18 blocks and stunning borders. We will be meeting monthly to work on this project. You can start this block of the month during any of the sessions as the techniques will be covered in each session. Some time working on this project between sessions will be needed to complete it within in the 8 sessions. You can also attend as many sessions as you need to complete the quilt.

Session 1 - We will be designing our quilts which will include a discussion of color palettes, selection of blocks from the 32 block designs, and border design. Then Jen will guide everyone through the steps of foundation paper piecing with lots of tips and tricks. You do not need to have all of your fabric chosen at this session. Please bring 2 FQs of colored fabric and 1⁄4 yd of background fabric. Also bring the FPP templates for block #3 and the coloring pages. If you have the paper version of the pattern, copy page 20 three times. If you have the PDF version, print page 23 three times. Do not cut these out, we will cover how to do that in class. Our goal is to learn and master the technique while working on the first block and second blocks.

Sessions 2 through 5 - Make 4 blocks each session

Session 6 - Make the small border

Session 7 - Make the large border

Session 8 - Assemble the quilt top & discuss quilting designs. Bonus: Get a PDF file of the free motion quilting designs I used to custom quilt each block.

Snacks will be provided. You are welcome to bring your favorites too. Please do not bring a cutting mat or iron, as these will be provided. The supply list will be emailed to you with ticket purchase. The pattern is not included with the event ticket, please purchase it separately as a PDF or physical pattern.
