Schedule of Events

Day 1 - Monday, September 23rd, 11:30am - 8 pm

Set Up: Doors open at 11:30 to set up your station.

Lunch & Welcome Festivities: At noon we kick off the festivites with lunch and a white elephant fabric exchange. Bring two coordinating fabrics measuring 5" x 20" that you think are "out of this world" and see what we make with them!

Workshop: Mastering Curves Piecing Workshop with Many Moons or Broken Moons Quilt Patterns Have you been wanting to add curves to your quilts but aren’t sure where to start? Then this is the class for you! You’ll learn and experiment with 3 different techniques for curved piecing using the Many Moons or Broken Moons quilt pattern. This pattern uses large curves because they’re easier to learn on. Bonus: We will also discuss how the use of contrast, color, and fabric change the look of the quilt. It looks modern made in Kona Solids but see it with big prints in the circles and it’s a whole new quilt.

Dinner: Mocktail hour with a surprise special guest, followed by dinner.

Evening: Open sewing until 8 pm.

Day 2 - Tuesday, September 24th, 10am - 8pm

Meals: Brunch at 10:30am, Dinner at 5pm.

1st Workshop: Reverse Applique with Invisible Seams with the Mini Moons Quilt Pattern Our most popular workshop! Discover how easy it is to create this stunning miniature quilt! Jen will guide you through a unique technique using a bit of freezer paper and Elmer's glue to achieve perfectly smooth, small curves. Whether you highlight a fun charm pack in the circles or use solid fabrics for a modern look, this workshop offers endless creative possibilities. As a bonus, we'll explore how contrast and block orientation can transform your quilt. Join us and be amazed at what you can create!

Special Guest & 2nd Workshop: Tovah Asher of Honey Vintage & Bath will be teaching her Handmade Soap Workshop!

Day 3 - Wednesday, September 25th, 10am - 8pm

Meals: Brunch at 10:30am, Dinner at 5pm

Workshop: Foundation Paper Piecing Basics Workshop using Striped Hexis, Equilateral Gone Awry, or Nuts About You Quilt Block Patterns Why would anyone stitch fabric onto paper? The benefit is that the paper keeps the fabric from stretching creating precise piecing, consistently sized blocks, and sharp points. It also allows for the creation of shapes that would be difficult to make using traditional piecing methods. In this workshop, you’ll make beautiful hexagon blocks while I take you step by step through the technique and show you how to use the tools that make it easier. Choose your favorite from the three pattern options: Striped Hexi’s, Equilateral Gone Awry, and Nuts About You. This class is best suited for open minded quilters of all skill levels who are ready to add a new technique to their tool belt. No previous experience with foundation paper piecing is needed. Bonus: We will explore block design and I'll show you a trick to make Y seams easy.

Note: All belongings must be packed up and out of the library by 8pm. This is our last sewing day.
