Why Snapdragon

One of my first memories is from when I was a very young child sitting on the rich soil in my grandma's garden eating peas that she had grown. She was pulling weeds next to me. My Grandma Louise was a gardener who taught me the love of getting my hands dirty. She could grow the most beautiful pansies, petunias, and rainbows of snapdragons as tall as me. Besides gardening, she gave me a love of crafting, sewing, cooking, and a good puzzle.

She also had the biggest heart and had a way to make me feel like I was her favorite person in the whole world. She recognized the good in me and I will forever love her for doing so.

Hi! I'm Jen, a quilt pattern designer, instructor, and founder of Snapdragon Quilting. I started Snapdragon Quilting in the spring of 2022 in memory of my beloved Grandma Louise—a talented seamstress, passionate crafter, and devoted gardener whose snapdragons inspired the company name.

I've been sewing for as long as I can remember and began designing my own quilts in 2006. Today, I create quilt patterns that combine bold color and modern design with approachable techniques and clear instructions. I love exploring different fabric combinations and layouts, so you'll often find multiple colorways and design options within my patterns.

Whether you're stitching your very first quilt or your hundredth, my goal is to help you create something beautiful while enjoying the process along the way. Welcome—I'm so glad you're here.
